The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released a crucial notice concerning the Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination, 2026. Following representations from candidates, the Commission has provided clarification regarding the categories reflected in the provisional shortlist for the next stage of the examination, which was initially declared on 12.10.2026. This notice addresses how candidates who applied under reserved categories but qualified based on Unreserved (UR) standards are now represented in the updated lists.

Understanding the Category Clarification

The initial provisional lists (List-I for Female and List-II for Male candidates) reflected certain candidates as ‘UR’ (Unreserved). This led to queries from applicants. SSC has now clarified that candidates who had applied under SC/ST/OBC/EWS/ESM categories but qualified the Computer Based Examination (CBE) based on the cut-off standards prescribed for Unreserved (UR) candidates were accordingly shown as UR in the earlier published lists.

New Detailed Lists Uploaded

To provide complete transparency and address candidate concerns, the Commission has now uploaded detailed lists on its official website. These updated lists include both categories for each candidate:

• The actual category under which the candidate originally applied.
• The category against which the candidate has been considered and qualified for the next stage (PET/PST).

This update applies to List-I for Female candidates provisionally shortlisted for PET/PST and List-II for Male candidates provisionally shortlisted for PET/PST (other than SSF). All other terms and conditions related to the result of the Computer Based Examination (CBE) for the Constable (GD) examination, 2026, remain unchanged. Candidates are advised to check the updated lists on the SSC website for clarity on their status.
